The Prophet is a good listener

A few years ago, in a fiqh class one afternoon, it was our first time to hear this hadith. At first glance, the contents of this hadith look simple and are not directly related to us as men. Even so, of course it is still required to be studied because a man is still a child of his mother, a husband for his wife, father for his daughter, grandfather to his granddaughter, as well as a Muslim who needs to convey advice to other Muslims, even if only a hadith. In addition, we also found an implied lesson that finally encouraged us to write it down. Happy reading, may Allah Story give blessings.

Hadith text

For the authority of UMM Hamid, the wife of Abu Hamid Al -Siadi, that he came to the Prophet, may God’s prayer and peace be above him, and he said: O God of God’s messenger, I like that prayer. He said: I have learned that you like your prayers with me, and your prayers in your home are better for you from your prayers on rocks, and your prayers on your stone are better than your prayers, your home is good for you from your prayers in your mosque, and your prayers in your mosque are better for you from your prayer in my mosque. Something from his house and his shadow

From UMM Humaid, the wife of Abu Humaid As-Sa’idi Radhiyallahu ‘anhumaHe came to the Prophet 1 And said, “O Messenger of Allah, I like praying with you.”

Rasulullah 1 Answering, “I really know that you are happy with me. Only, your prayers in your room are better than your prayers in your room.

Umm Humaid then asked to develop a prayer place in his darkest room. And he used to pray there until he met God ‘Azza from Jalla (death). [1]

Sports Lessons: Priority of Salt at Home for Women

The first benefit of the above hadith is the priority of salt at home for women. The more places are closed, the more you. Sharia motivates women to pray at home, so it takes care of herself and does not cause slander (test) for others.

Originally, this virtue applies both for mandatory prayer and sunnah prayers, except for certain sunnah prayers such as Id prayers that have special arguments, which encourage women not to pray at their homes. Fatwa Fatwa Commission Al-Lajnah ad-religion mention, “The woman’s prayer in her house is better than her prayer in the mosque, both fardu prayers, sunnah tarawih prayers, or vice versa.” [2]

However, sharia still allowed women to go to the mosque. From friends ‘Abdullah bin’ Umar Radhiyallahu ‘anhuma, Rasulullah 1 say,

Don’t prevent their women, mosques and homes.

“Do not forbid your wife to go to the mosque. However, their house is better for them.” [3]

No doubt, perhaps there are a number of considerations that sometimes encourage women to choose to go to the mosque, can be in the form of home conditions, decreased enthusiasm, and so forth. However, it should be noted that this ability is bound by a number of conditions such as maintaining genitalia, no Ikhtilat (mixed with non -mahram for no reasons of shar’i), no Tabarruj (showing beauty in front of non -mahram), as well as avoiding other Shari’a violations.

Sheikh Ibnu Baz Rahimahullah explained, “Originally, a woman’s prayer in her home is more important and better for her. Walhamdulillah. This is also good because it contains great benefits and enthusiasm to do good deeds. ” [4]

Implicated lesson: Being a good listener, building healthy communication

This hadith also gives a direct example of the Prophet 1 and UMM Humaid As-Sa’idiyyah Radhiyallahu ‘anha, regarding how to build healthy communication.

Rasulullah 1 Do not cut the words of UMM Humaid, but listen completely. He 1 not immediately answered by saying, “Oh not so, prayer at home is the best for women. Anyway, I am the best to understand what is best for you“Or a word such as a messenger of Allah 1 prefer to validate his feelings first by saying, “Really I already know that you are happy to pray with me”.

Rasulullah 1 shows sincerity and provide certainty that he 1 Really know the meaning and feelings of Umm Humaid Radhiyallahu ‘anha, Not just listening to protests. This is shown with Use of words Possible which is connected to Fi’il Madhi (past verbs), so that it has the meaning of emphasis and affirmation.

Afterwards, without refusing let alone discredit the desires and feelings of Umm Humaid, Prophet ﷺ Describe a number of more important options. This is a valuable lesson, that when we have different views with other people who are not wrong, do not immediately force him to follow the views that we feel better. Convey the alternatives we have and their reasons, then give it a room to choose. That’s the way Rasulullah 1 Responding to Ummu Humaid’s wishes that are not forbidden by the Shari’a, it’s just that it can indeed be directed to the best choice, namely prayer at home.

UMM Humaid Radhiyallahu ‘anha also shows good communication skills. He doesn’t hesitate to convey his desires and feelings clearly and not excessive, a form self -disclosure (sharing healthy feelings or information). This shows that it is okay to reveal the things we like or not we like, so that others can understand and build better relationships with us.

Similarly, when you want to ask for something from others, it is not wrong to include our feelings by saying, “I’m happy if you …” or “Frankly, I’m a little sad if you …” or “What do you think if …?” or such as. After that, listen to the answer, understand his position and feelings. Then, if necessary, convey our opinions without ignoring, let alone eliminate their opinions and feelings. Thus healthy communication is established, where both parties can carry out their role as honest messages, good listeners, or as wise friends.

Al-Chasan Al-Bashri Rahimahullah Once said, “What can be used as a lesson. However, who can take a little lesson.” [5]

May Allah Story give us taufik.
