ANSWER
Wa’alaikumussalam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh
1. Yes, Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam once mentioned KILABUN NAAR (Hell Dog) to KHAWARIJ..
In an authentic history it is stated:
Abd al-Razzaq told us, Muammar told us, he said, I heard Abu Ghalib say, “When the chiefs of the Azraq tribe were brought and placed on the steps of Damascus, Abu Umamah came, and when he saw them, his eyes filled with tears. He said, ‘The dogs of fire three times: These are the worst of the dead who were killed under the shade of heaven, and the best of the dead who were killed under the shade of heaven are those who were killed.’ ‘What’s wrong with you? Your eyes shed tears.’ He said, ‘As a mercy to them, they are among the Muslims.’ We said, ‘You think?’ I said, ‘These are the dogs of fire,’ or something I heard from the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and give him peace. He said, “I am brave. On the contrary, I heard it from the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, more than once, not twice, or three times.” He said, so he counted several times. (Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal)
Has narrated to us ‘Abdur Razzaq narrated to us Ma’mar said; I heard Abu Ghalib say;
“When the leaders of the Azariqah group were brought and installed on the steps of Damascus, Abu Umamah came. When he saw him, he shed tears and said: The dogs of hell – three times – they are the worst victims to be killed under the sky, and the best victims to be killed under the sky are the people they killed.”
I ask; “Why are you shedding tears?”
He answered; “As a feeling of love for them, they used to be Muslims.”
We asked; “On what basis did you call them; *Hellhounds,* or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?”
He said; “In fact, I (if without reason) would have been reckless, but I heard it from Rasulullah ﷺ not just once, twice, three times. He repeated it many times.”
(HR. Ahmad no. 22183. Shaykh Syu’aib Al Arnauth said: sahih. See Ta’liq Musnad Ahmad no. 22183)
2. To call MUNAFIQ, it happened many times..
– Umar bin Khathab called Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah MUNAFIQ, then Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam defended Hatib.
– Umar was angry with Abu Hurairah, calling him Aduwwullah (Enemy of Allah).. As a strong rebuke because Abu Hurairah was considered too easy to narrate the hadith.. To be more careful.. May Allah be pleased with both of them..
