Advice for Mujahideen Detractors

It is sunnatullah that warriors always face trials and slander. Right at the beginning of Indonesian independence, they were called terrorists by their enemies and their accomplices (Londo Ireng).

Currently, the Palestinian mujahideen are also experiencing this; accused of being cruel and slandered as a terrorist, khawarij, deviant creed, made by Shiites, made by Jews, destroying Islam, etc.

If the slander and accusations come from the Zionist colonialists, we understand, it is indeed their propaganda. But this comes from the mouths of Muslims themselves, even people who are considered preachers and ustadz in their assemblies, or on social media, and are then followed blindly by their students.

So how does Islamic law view this? Criticizing fellow Muslims is evil, the Prophet ﷺ said:

Insulting a Muslim is immoral, and fighting him is blasphemy.

Blaming a Muslim is wickedness and killing him is disbelief. (HR. Bukhari no. 46)

If criticizing ordinary Muslims is considered wickedness or a crime, then how much more so is criticizing and slandering the mujahideen defending their religion and country?

Al Mutanabbi in his poetry said:

You have no horse to guide him, or money. So let his speech be happy if the situation is not happy.

You have no war horses or treasures to offer

So help with words if you can’t help with the situation

Yes, it should be like that. But in reality their words were very dirty towards the Palestinian freedom fighters.

Criticizing the Mujahideen is the behavior of hypocrites as described in the Koran. Allah Ta’ala says:

It’s so embarrassing, when fear comes, you will see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like someone fainting. Death, then when the fear has passed, they will attack you with tongues of sorrow, lamenting goodness. This is disbelief. So Allah thwarted their deeds, even though it was easy for Allah.

They (hypocrites) are stingy towards you. When fear (danger) comes, you see them looking at you with upturned eyes like someone who is fainting from death, and when the fear disappears, they curse you with a sharp tongue, while they are stingy in doing good. They did not believe, so Allah abolished their deeds. And that’s easy for God. (QS. Al Ahzab: 19)

He was asked:

What is the punishment for someone who slanders honest mujahideen, defames them, spreads their errors, and fills his meetings with slandering the mujahideen, making them false, and sometimes accusing them of being Khawarij and sometimes calling them Takfiri? Do we seek refuge in Allah from that?

What is the ruling on people who criticize honest mujahideen, spread their mistakes, and keep their assembly busy by criticizing mujahideen, blaming, and making accusations, sometimes accusing khawarij, takfir, na’udzubillah min dzalik?

He answered:

Some people sat down in their chairs, leaned back on their sofas, and began insulting the patient mujahideen and honest clerics.
He is not one who rises up to work for this religion, nor is he one who holds his tongue and refrains from slandering those who work!
What’s even more dangerous is if the source comes from old or Western media! Perhaps the source of its acceptance comes from the ways it creates to distort the image of Islam and Muslims, and even the “Americanization” of ideas and concepts! And whoever attacks the Mujahideen without their knowledge, stands in one line and in the same trench with the enemies of the nation – whether they like it or not –!

He (the critic) is not a person who works for this religion, nor is he a person who holds his tongue and refrains from slandering charitable activists!

Even more dangerous is if the source comes from dirty or Western media! It is very possible that the source of its acceptance comes from fabricated information to distort the image of Islam and Muslims, and even the “Americanization” of thinking and understanding!

Whoever criticizes the Mujahideen without their knowledge, then he stands in the same row and in the same trench with the enemies of this Ummah – whether he likes it or not -!

He serves the interests of the nation’s enemies.
He did not look for a single excuse for his brothers facing a sinful and brutal invasion of a Muslim country, let alone seventy excuses! God is the Helper. It is not permissible for someone who sits far from reality to criticize his brothers and sisters who are facing enemies, whether in the east or west.

He serves the interests of these enemies of the people. There is not a single excuse (excuse) for him to attack his brothers who are facing a brutal and evil invasion in an Islamic country, let alone seventy reasons! Wallahul Musta’an!

No one should just sit quietly and far from reality criticizing his brother who is facing enemies, both in the east and in the west.
