Wife commits sin and husband joins in sin?

QUESTION

Assalammu’alaikum ust, Afwan is annoying .

Ana once heard tausiyah from a well-known ustaz, if a husband has warned his wife about haram things that she should not do, but the wife secretly does these things, then the husband is still affected by his sin.
Is this true in Islamic jurisprudence??
If the answer is yes, please give your reasons, sir

ANSWER

Wa’alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh

If the husband has taught, advised, guided, both about worship, halal and haram, and so on… but his wife is still stupid, then in the sight of God Almighty, the wife’s mistakes and stupidity are solely borne by him, free from her husband in the sight of God… As is said in the verse:

Don’t you bear the burden of other women?

(namely) that a person who sins will not bear the sins of others. (QS. An-Najm, Verse 38)

Other verses:

Every soul is held hostage to what it has acquired.

“Everyone is responsible for what they have done.” (Q. Al-Muddassir: Verse 38)

We are sure that Prophet Nuh and Prophet Lut ‘alaihimassalam had educated their wives, but apparently their wives were still disobedient, but Allah Ta’ala never blamed these two prophets and sinned because of their wives’ actions.
