Avoid false advice, glorify God’s Word, and pay attention to prayer


Stay away from assemblies that contain falsehood and evil

Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla said,

And those who do not bear witness to falsehood, and if they pass you by with idle talk, then they pass by you with honor.

“And those who are not present (give) false testimony, and when they meet (people) who do immoral deeds, then they pass by while maintaining their honor.” (QS. Al-Furqan: 72)

One of the morals ‘Ibadur Rahman and the beauty of their nature is that they always distance themselves from assemblies filled with evil, whose contents are only falsehood and speech that Allah has forbidden. This is as God says ‘Azza wa Jalla,

And people who do not give false testimony

“And those who do not attend false testimony,..” (QS. Al-Furqan: 72)

That is, they did not attend the assembly, did not come to him, and did not gather with the perpetrators.

Included in the scope of this verse are assemblies whose contents are only about immorality and sin, such as gossip (gibah), fighting against each other. (naming)mocking or degrading (the honor) of other people, lying, singing, displaying or displaying immorality (overtly), as well as other vile things that are often broadcast on television, smartphone (HP), and other media.

Included in the verse above are assemblies that incite or spread heretical and distorted thoughts, corrupt thoughts, and heretical practices which are usually popularized by misguided and misleading people. This also includes the polytheist holidays and their special occasions. A Muslim cannot attend, let alone greet or join in the fun of the celebration.

So, everything mentioned above is included in the meaning of the verse. Therefore, Salaf scholars interpret the meaning of ‘az-zur’ in various expressions to explain it.

After mentioning various opinions regarding this verse from para salaf as-salih, Al-Hafizh Ibn Jarir ath-Tabari God bless explain,

The most correct statement in its interpretation is to say: And those who do not witness evil; Whether polytheism, singing, lies, or whatever, and everything related to it is not called falsehood. For Allah generally describes them as: They do not bear false witness

“The most appropriate opinion in interpreting it is that what is meant by (the verse) is that they do not attend to anything in which there is falsehood, be it shirk, singing, lies, or the like, as well as everything that is included in the meaning’az-zur’ (falsehood or falsehood). Therefore Allah called them (Ar-Rahman’s servants) with the nature of being absent ‘az-zūr’.” (Look Jami’ al-Bayan, 17: 523)

Ar-Rahman’s servants certainly will not be able to attend these assemblies in any form, and the most important thing is that they do not want to fall into (committing) falsehood themselves.

In that part of the verse, Allah Story also said,

And if they pass you by with nonsense, then they pass by you with respect.

“And if they meet (people) who do deeds that are not useful, then they do it while maintaining their honor.” (QS. Al-Furqan: 72)

That is, they did not mean to come to him nor did they approach him on purpose. However, if they happen to be (forced) to pass through an assembly that is full of munkar or falsehood, then they will pass it by guarding (honor) themselves from it, not caring about it, and distancing themselves from sitting together in it.

Exalt the word of God and put it into practice

Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla said,

And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall to them, they are deaf and blind.

“And those who, when warned with the verses of their Lord, do not respond to it, are deaf and blind.” (QS. Al-Furqan: 73)

the word of God Praise be to the Most High very majestic and noble in the heart ‘Ibadur Rahman (servant of Ar-Rahman). They do not reject it or turn away from it, but rather they glorify it, glorify it, listen to it well, and make use of it.

By the word of God ‘Azza wa Jalla,

They do not make the deaf and the blind fall into it

“They are not facing it deaf and blind.” (QS. Al-Furqan: 73)

This means that when they listen to the word of God, they do not behave like deaf people who cannot hear, or blind people who cannot see. On the contrary, they listen well (seriously), take lessons (benefits), then practice His laws and instructions.

Qatadah bin Di’amah God bless explain about this verse,

They are not deaf to the truth, nor are they blind to the truth. They are a people who understand God, so they benefit from what they hear from God’s Book.

“They do not turn a deaf ear to the truth and do not pretend to be blind to it. They are people who want to understand the teachings of Allah, so that they can benefit from what they hear in His Book.” (HR. Ibn Abu Hatim in Interpretationhis, 8:2740)

Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla criticizing those who are proud of Allah’s verses and His guidance. Pride will drag him into sin until he continues to be in falsehood. God threatened him with the punishment of Hell. Allah Praise be to the Most High said,

And if it is said to him, “Fear Allah,” pride leads him into sin, then Hell is enough for him, and woe will be his resting place.

“And when it is said to him, ‘Fear Allah’, then it is his pride that drives him to continue sinning. Hell fire is enough for him, and indeed hell fire is the worst place to live in.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 206)

Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said,

The most hateful speech against Allah is when a man says to another man: Fear Allah, and he says: That is in yourself.

“Indeed, the most hated speech by Allah is when someone says to another, ‘Fear Allah’, then he replies, ‘Take care of yourself’.” (HR. An-Nasa’i in as-Sunan al-Kubra NO. 10619, and ratified by Al-Albani in as-Silsilah ash-Sahihah NO. 2598)

Pay attention to prayer and humble yourself before God

Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla said,

And those who say, “Our Lord, give us comfort in our eyes from our wives and our descendants, and make us leaders of the pious.”

“And those who say, ‘Our Lord, give us the refreshing sight of our wives and our offspring, and make us leaders of the pious’.” (QS. Al-Furqan: 74)

Among the perfections of Ar-Rahman’s servants is his attention to prayer. They are very dependent on God Praise be to the Most Hightake refuge in Him, return to Him, and all their religious and worldly needs and affairs they only hope for from Allah Story alone and there is no partner for Him.

Then when they prayed they were very enthusiastic in praying with prayers that were full of benefit and were very useful. For example, they pray,

O our Lord, give us the comfort of the eyes of our wives and our descendants, and make us leaders of the pious.

“O our Lord, grant us our wives and our offspring as a comfort to the eyes, and make us leaders of the pious.” (QS. Al-Furqan: 74)

This prayer is one of the most complete prayers (faidah) and most useful. It contains a request from a servant so that his heart feels happy (calm and comfortable) with a pious family, namely a spouse and children who are good in worship, morals, muamalah, life, always filial to parents, and other virtues.

Then, in their prayers,

And make us leaders of the pious people

“And make us leaders for those who are pious”, contains a request that they first correct and improve themselves so that they can guide and show kindness to others.

Because a person will not be able to be a good role model and leader for those who are pious, if he himself has not emulated the pious people before him. He must first instill goodness in himself, try really hard to achieve these good and noble qualities. At that time, pious people will be eager to imitate and follow him, and benefit from his guidance and guidance.

Therefore, every Muslim should be enthusiastic about always practicing and often reciting this prayer, so that he can obtain the great goodness contained in it.
