Basic sermon and face disagreement (bag. 3)


In the field of da’wah, the occurrence of disputes is not possible. Because truth is not possible to mix with sleaze. This is as the Prophet ﷺ explained in his hadith,

Halal is between and that forbidden among them is suspicious and many people know

“Indeed, the law is clear and illegal. Syubhat unknown to many people. ” (Muttafaq ‘alaih)

Therefore, it becomes Sunnatullah For someone who explains the truth that he will definitely get a challenge. Allah ﷻ said,

I think people are left to say that they are safe and they are not fascinated by ﴿2﴾. Liarsَ

“Do humans think that they are left (only) say, “We believe,” While they are not tested anymore? And in fact we have tested the people before them, then God knows the righteous and know the liars. “(Surah Al-Ukabût: 2-3)

Even this dispute does not only occur between preachers and enemies of sermons, but can also occur among fellow goodness. The factors of human soul and heart will be very influential in disputes among people. In this case, Sheikh Saad Ash-Sang Hafizhahullah give a chapter title ie “Sorry, tolerance and not forget the credit” (forgive, tolerance, and not forgetting the services or virtues of a person). This he emphasized to those who love and love each other, especially in groups of people who gather or collaborate in obedience. Sheikh Saad Hafizhahullah explain,

Forgiveness and tolerance and not forgetting praise, especially if differences occur between those who are familiar with loved ones, and between those who are beautiful and known, and meetings about compliance with God and their agreements

“The attitude of forgiveness, tolerance, and not forgetting the service is emphasized when there are disputes between those who love each other and love. Indeed there are some of them who are good at gathering because of compliance with God and their services.” ((Adab Al-Ikhtilaf Bainas Shahabah, matter. 127)

Forgiveness is a foundation in human relations

Allah said ﷻ

Take forgiveness, order knowledge and offer the two people.َ

“Forgive and tell people to do people, also not stupid.” (Surah Al-A’raf: 199)

Al-‘Allamah As lassa ‘ Rahimahullah explain Taisir Karimir Rahman (2: 189) that this verse has gathered good morals in human interactions. As in dealing with humans, someone does not need to burden others with heavy indicators. Because humans are essentially creatures that are not perfect, wrongdoing, and certainly disappointing. Therefore, someone is encouraged to decorate himself with an attitude of forgiving so that disappointment does not pile up in him and explode in the form of anger later on.

Human character is cruel and stupid

Allah ﷻ said at the end of the surah al-Ahzab,

That is a shadow

“Indeed, this is very cruel and very stupid.” (Surah Al-Ahzab: 72)

This is a trait installed in a human soul. The mentality that tends to tyranny, which is not putting something in his rights, and stupid, except for Allah. This trait is not only embedded in uneducated people or small groups, but they are embedded into the potential of every human being. Humans who are intelligent and educated remain potentially wrongdoing and also have stupidity. Because humans will not be able to master all the existing knowledge and wisdom, but often pretend to know everything. So that it will produce stupid actions and also the act of tyrannizing others.

With the nature that has been embedded in humans, do we still hope for humans?

So as not to be disappointed when the dispute

Have you ever had a wild cat in your home? Then you take care of, feed, and also a place to live. However, after being maintained, a few days later the cat disappeared and it was already in another housing complex because it had got a partner. Is your disappointment? Maybe you are disappointed, but the disappointment disappeared in an instant.

What caused it? Because you know the nature of the animal is a creature that is not intelligent. You don’t expect that cat can repay your kindness completely.

So that in order to stop being disappointed from humans who exceed you or in general in everyday interaction, recognize the nature of the wrongdoing and stupid people. Thus, all disputes will not leave protracted wounds. Because protracted wounds will produce anger, while uncontrolled exploding anger will definitely produce regret. As the salaf said,

Anger is the first of madness and the last is regret

“Anger is the beginning of madness and finally regret.”

Anger that eliminates reason can be a parent of various kinds of bad. Expression “Al-Khamru Ummul Khoba’ites” (Khamr as a mother of ugliness) is because Khamr will eliminate reason that can refrain from various disobedience and tyranny. So, anger that eliminates reason will be as dangerous as people who are drunk. Moreover there are various triggers that can be objectified as the parent problem. How many cases of attacks and even killings just because of disagreement and old revenge that piled up.

Therefore, Allah ﷻ asks us to decorate ourselves with the nature of forgiveness. Because the nature of forgiveness is a medicine for anger and prevention of revenge. Allah ﷻ said,

And if they are angry, they forgiveَ

“And when they are angry, they apologize.” (QS. Asy-Syura: 37)

This is the nature of believers, above the Salafus Shalih, They face disputes and even more painful betrayal. Even among them were betrayed by their own relatives and relatives. However, this kind of situation does not make them save revenge, but immediately and always forgiveness. Ibnu Kathir Rahimahullah In his interpretation explains that forgiveness has become a trait inherent in his friends, including the Prophet ﷺ. He was never angry at his personal affairs, but he was angry when God’s rights were violated.

However, it is also natural that someone does not like to be disputed especially in order to embarrass. Or the excitement is accompanied by a demeaning attitude. The friends too, but they are trying to forgive him.

Ibn Kathir Rahimahullah Considering Ibn Abi Hatim who told me in a long sanad to Ibrahim,

People believe in distorting that they will be humiliated, and if they can forgive

“Believers don’t like being humiliated; but if they can, they forgive.” ((Ibn Kathir’s interpretation QS. Ash-Syura: 37)

Don’t join in stupid

Al-Qurthubi Rahimahullah Interpret QS. Al-A’raf: 199 which is the tree of this discussion,

And he entered into his saying: (and ordered knowledge) Prayers from both heders, and forgiveness of people, and folk friends, and people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people who are people is the person who is someone else who is someone who is someone who is a person who is a person who is a person who is a personَ

“Included in meaning, “Government for Good” is to connect the friendship with those who have cut off friendship, forgiven sinners, being gentle to those who believe, and the characteristics of other obedient people.

And in the saying the saying (and offering fools) about knowledge of knowledge, and the purpose of people from injustice, and truth, and truth of fools, and vice versa from creation and creationِ.

And in words, “And turn away from a fool” Some are organized to hold on to knowledge, to turn away from unfair, to avoid disagreement with fools and resemble them, and praised and other wise actions. “

Al-Qurthubi Rahimahullah Explain that we should not be stupid because we respond to people who exclude and embarrass us in an unfair way. When disputing, we should focus on the substance that is disputed. Don’t focus wrong with the person who exists. Even more important if in preaching, then there are those who argue or recite, then keep preaching (And command to find out) And turn away from those who make a fuss.

Know, if this foundation is truly applied in life, then it is a little dispute. Because there are many disagreements that are not substantive. In addition, on social media, it is possible to respond to the status of science among science members, but the comments column is even more contained in disputes between knowledge scholars or even the public who do not understand the tradition of science. A student knowledge must be ordered by God and his messenger. A science student may not follow the public style of public which will ultimately make a state of turmoil and heat become hot.
